Redwood National and State Parks Shirt
Imagine a place, shrouded in mist, along Highway 1, tracing the ruggedly beautiful Northern California coastline. You witness California at its wildest, where the Pacific Ocean crashes against towering cliffs and driftwood laden beaches. Along the way, you marvel at the majestic coastal redwoods that rise from a bed of fern, their ancient trunks standing at an incredible height of 360+ feet and a staggering age of 1500 years. Then you realize it's not a dream, you are in Redwood National Park.
If you've even watched Star Wars or Jurassic Park then you've seen Redwood. The forest has a rich history. Much of it was nearly clear cut to extinction. Fortunately concerned Californian's stepped in to set up State Parks to protect the area from further logging until the National Park could be set up in the late 1960's. The state parks coexist along with the national park to this day. There are two giant statues of Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox to commemorate the area's logging history.
Wear our vintage Redwood National Park T-shirt and set off to explore the mist-covered forest. Hike through the secluded Tall Trees Grove, where you will come across these massive trees. Take an adventure through Fern Canyon, a breathtaking slot canyon filled with ferns that hug the walls and create a unique, verdant environment. Don't forget to keep a lookout for the magnificent Roosevelt elk that reside in Elk Prairie.
