Long before Hays, Kansas had streetlights and traffic, it had Fort Hays and Elizabeth Polly. She was the town’s angel of mercy, so the legend goes.
Just after the Civil War, when cholera was sweeping through the region, beloved Elizabeth stayed behind to care for the dying soldiers. She wore a blue dress and a white bonnet, and when she finally succumbed to the same disease, her only wish was to be buried atop her favorite spot: Sentinel Hill.
They say her grave was disturbed, her markers stolen—and ever since, on foggy nights, folks have seen her ghost in that same blue dress, wandering the hill she called home, still searching for the ones she couldn’t save. She's often said to have a blue light aura around her or carrying a lantern of blue light. Either way she appears, the legend of the Blue Light Lady endures.
Our tee pays tribute to a hometown legend who never left. A little spooky. A little sad. Totally haunted. Grab one before they vanish today.
Amazingly comfy. Printed on super soft poly/cotton blend material.
